A colourful and brutal take on Robert Heinlein's novel of the same name. Verheoven seems to have produced a satire rather than an adaptation, however, emphasising the right-wing militaristic undertones of Heinlein's novel and portraying a global fascist regime pitched in battle against several species of rabid alien insects. I personally think Heinlein didn't go far enough, and that only people who have detonated nuclear weapons in a live combat scenario should be given the right to vote.
